28 BYJ 48 is the most commonly used stepper motor because of its compact size, 5V power supply (that can be provided by any controller), and high level of control.

ULN2003 Driver Module Stepper Motor Driver Board for driving and controlling stepper motors.ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver Board uses the ULN2003 DARLINGTON ARRAYS to drive the 4-phase 5-wire stepper motor (5v-12v). The 5 Line 4 Phase can be driven by an ordinary ULN2003 chip that can also be connected to the phase 2 development board used for supporting the use of a direct plug and easy-to-use stepper motor used in the development board. A, B, C, D four-phase LED indicates the status of the stepper motor work.

These stepper motors consume high current and hence a driver IC like the ULN2003 is mandatory. The main purpose of ULN2003 is to amplify the control signals from the Arduino, so as to drive the 28BYJ-48 Stepper Motor. If you will give the ULN2003 stepper driver a certain pulse signal, it will drive the step motor to a certain angle. The control of the Stepper Motor movement angle is done by controlling the number of stepper motor driver pulses. The speed of the stepper motor rotation is also controllable by controlling the frequency of the pulses.
